Dollar's Story

Meet Dollar!

14-year-old Dollar was brought to the Chesterfield-South LA Shelter as a stray, though staff suspected he was actually surrendered by his owner. When we first welcomed sweet, shy Dollar as a Frosted Face, he was understandably overwhelmed by his new surroundings-his whole world had just been turned upside down!

Fortunately, Dollar was chosen to go on an Frosted Fling, giving him the chance to decompress in a calm, loving home environment. We have learned that once he feels safe, his playful and affectionate side shines through!

Dollar's foster mom shares:

"Dollar has been to the dog beach several times, visits dog parks once or twice a week, goes to the pet store, and often rides in the car with his people. He also participated in a Halloween pet parade.

At home, Dollar happily approaches asking for pets. Outside, he becomes shy and often freezes when strangers try to pet him.

Dollar has been around big and small dogs and cats. Although he is shy, he perks up when walking and playing with another mild-mannered dog in the house. He is very playful at home with his friend but gets scared at dog parks if other dogs surround him.

Dollar relaxes when home alone and hasn't had any accidents."

Dollar has come so far in just five weeks-imagine how much he could blossom with the security of a forever home.
