DOLBY's Story

INTRODUCING DOLBY….and another tragic story to report ? At 12 lbs, 4 yrs old and tri colored, this very special Shih Tzu boy was given to a good Samaritan who took him because she wanted to keep him out of the shelter when his humans were moving. She was told he had a hernia…but in fact it was a testicular tumor. He had never been neutered and the tumor grew to be the size of a baseball before she handed him over to us — never disclosing this information. We got him to our vet and were very worried initially — how such a sweet, easygoing, loving dog could end up this way. GOOD NEWS while the tumor was malignant, it was the type that the oncologist says doesn’t metastasize, so the cancer was gone! We have done a needle biopsy to clear the lymph nodes and everything was negative — which for us was very positive!

Dolby’s foster reports that he is one of the easiest going pups he has ever experienced and is a joy to be around. He was playing voraciously with his foster buddy despite the fact that he had an abdomen full of stitches from his surgery! They are still working on his potty training but report he is getting it! He is not hyper but loves to play…not super interested in toys at this point. Loves belly rubs as all dogs do…and is a super kissy lover! He is not yappy or barky but will say hello to the other dogs walking on the street! Not an aggressive bone in his body. Because of his fantastic nature, he could probably go into almost any home – but preferably one with another dog and a family who will cherish him. He is very people and dog oriented and whomever adopts him will be bringing in a wonderful family member. Does that sound like you? He will not be available until the beginning of November.
