Doc- MA's Story
Doc
Breed: Australian Cattle Dog Mix
Age: 3y+/-, Male
Weight: 45 pds
Medical: UTD on all vaccines, Neutered, microchipped
Cat Friendly: No
Dog Friendly: Yes; but dog selective
Kid Friendly: Unknown, Recommending Ages 12+
Crate Trained: Yes
House Trained: Yes
Location: Cape Cod, MA
Doc is outgoing and playful! He is adventurous, curious, and generally more confident when introduced to new situations. This handsome fella enjoys activity and would likely do best in a home that can provide appropriate structure, exercise, and continued guidance.
Doc may be a good fit for a home with an active lifestyle and experience with intelligent, higher-drive breeds. He is playful and social, but like many working-breed mixes, he will benefit from clear expectations, consistency, and outlets for both physical and mental energy.
Doc may do well with another playful, confident dog, provided the match is appropriate and introductions are handled thoughtfully. He would likely be best suited with dogs that are socially stable and tolerant of playful energy.
If you are interested in adopting, please click at the link below:
CRNE Adoption Application:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1rjvYvkyGRug-gnCPcHFB49ksrZlQNlYQddGnkoVvNNA/viewform?fbclid=IwAR1Z3LWcB1HW2pncs-N64t1xdlD6Fm9P137xk6MErsLOE4ObXQ9erCAk-nM&edit_requested=true
Once your application has been received and reviewed, you will be contacted via email or phone by one of our volunteers. After your application is approved, the foster parent for the dog you have selected will contact you to answer any questions you may have and determine if that dog is a good match for your family.
If you have no particular dog in mind, we will be happy to keep your application on file and notify you if the right dog should come into rescue. Catahoula Rescue of New England is an all-volunteer group. Dogs in our program are fostered by volunteers. The foster homes care for our dogs as if they were their own. All dogs have received vaccinations appropriate to age and are spayed or neutered.

Doc’s adoption donation is $300 which includes Rabies, DHLPP, Bordetella, fecal test, heartworm test, is on preventative, microchip and Spay/Neuter depending on age at time of adoption. If the dog is too young for a spay/neuter, then they will be adopted with a spay/neuter contract and $100 deposit. We do not have a physical shelter; all our dogs are fostered in individual foster homes across the New England and Canada.
