Dobby's Story

Dobby was found as a stray in philly with a visible front leg and eye injury. He was taken to our vets where it was determined he has an elbow fracture and and eye injury. It is very clear that someone did this to poor Dobby. But now after surgery, Dobby is fully healed physically. Dobby is a sweet boy once he warms up to you. But rightfully so, he is a little shy and scared when he meets new people. He can be head shy at first but when he realizes you will not hurt him, he will give you kisses and cuddles for days.

Dobby can be dog selective and does well with slow introductions and would do best with a mellow submissive dog or would be perfectly content to be your one and only. He is crate trained and potty trained. Dobby still very much needs some work with leash manners but is getting there. We are recommending children 12 and older for Dobby due to his past and his shyness.

Dobby does have hardware in his elbow and will benefit from having joint supplements life long to slow down the progression of his arthritis. This doesn’t slow Dobby down now but may need extra care in the future as Dobby ages. Dobby’s ideal home is a low traffic, quiet home where his new family can work on his confidence building and socialization.

Dobby is neutered, microchipped, given all age appropriate vaccines, heartworm negative and started on heartworm prevention.

Apply here
https://freedomfirstrescue.com/adoption-info/
