Dobby! 's Story

Urgent-Courtesy post - Dobby - Still Waiting for the Home He’s Never Had

Dobby is a sweet, affectionate young pitbull mix who has sadly never had a real home of his own. After spending his puppyhood in the shelter and being moved between temporary placements, he is hoping the next home he walks into will finally be his forever one.

Dobby arrived at Castaic Animal Shelter as a puppy and became the longest resident there, watching other dogs leave while he stayed behind. When he was finally pulled from the shelter, everyone hoped his life was about to change.

But the homes he thought were his kept disappearing.

His first foster kept him for four months, then was unable to continue fostering. Dobby was then placed in outdoor boarding for a year. He became really depressed and despondent. Six months ago another foster stepped in to help him, but she is only able to keep him one more month. He can't go back to boarding! This is so unfair for a good little guy that just wants a forever home and someone to pick him as their forever best friend.

For a dog who has never truly belonged anywhere, facing another move back to outdoor boarding is heartbreaking and will be devastating for him.

Despite everything he has been through, Dobby remains a happy, loving dog who just wants to be part of a family. He is playful, affectionate, and enjoys being around people and was in a foster home with other dogs his size and larger when first out of the shelter and he did fine with them. He does like to chase birds, so as a precaution, we are saying he would be best in a home w/o small animals.

Dobby has also worked with professional trainers.

Dobby is:
• Crate trained
• Potty trained
• Good with people and other dogs his size or bigger
• Past the destructive puppy stage
• Would love to be your hiking buddy

He has no behavior issues, but he is very excited when meeting people and can be mouthy/vocal, this can be a bit much for some people, but for the right person it would be a non issue — what he has been missing is simply a stable place to call home.

Imagine coming home to a loyal dog who greets you with a wagging tail, ready for a walk, playtime, and a cozy evening by your side on the couch watching TV. Dobby is ready to give that kind of love to the family who finally gives him a chance.

Dobby urgently needs an adopter or committed foster so he does not have to lose being in a home again. If another rescue is able to place him with a foster, the current rescue is also willing to transfer him so he can remain out of boarding.

Dobby has waited his whole life for someone to choose him.
Maybe that someone is you. 🐾

His Rescue is: Sadie Rae and Mattie Mae's Revolution - All Animal Rescue Squad
Santa Clarita, 91350
(661) 313-1300
sadierae.mattiemae.revolution@gmail.com

They are willing to drive him to his perfect home up to 12 hours roundtrip from Santa Clarita where he is currently at.
