Django's Story

When Django first arrived, he greeted everyone with his goofy grin, a toy in his mouth, and a tail that never seemed to stop. Lately, though, we find him lying quietly on his bed more and more often. The longer dogs stay in a shelter, the more it begins to weigh on them. Even the happiest dogs can become discouraged.

And it breaks our hearts. Because Django is such a good boy.
He’s house and crate trained. He walks beautifully with a harness. He loves car rides. He adores his toys. He’s good with other dogs, cats, and even elderly people.

He has so much love to give.

Django isn’t asking for much. He just needs a home with children over 12 years old. He hasn't shown any aggression—we simply know he’s happiest with people who understand that sometimes dogs need a little space to decompress and be left alone. That’s a healthy boundary, and we want to set him up for success.

He’s almost eight years old. He’s already spent 318 days waiting.

No dog should slowly lose their spark while waiting for someone to notice them.
If you’ve been thinking about adopting, please consider Django. The happiest version of him is still there—we see it every time he gets outside with a toy or hops into a car for an adventure. He just needs someone to give him a reason to smile like that every day.
