Dixie - Perfect Girl! - and Blind

Dixie is an INCREDIBLE, lovable, and loving, beautiful 7 year old girl. She is also blind. She had severe glaucoma in one eye, and it had to be removed for her comfort. She is doing fantastically after the surgery! She can only see shadows with the remaining eye and so is clinically blind.<br/><br/>Despite her disability, Dixie is a super fast learner and gets her bearings quickly! She figured out how to navigate in her foster home amazingly fast! She loves to go for walks (especially with a doggy friend to follow), and she is an absolute cuddlebug!<br/><br/>What is truly amazing is how quickly she adapts to new environments. Her foster has done some traveling which meant she had to go to different temp foster homes.. and she just figures everything out so quickly!!<br/><br/>Dixie is a beautiful girl who was cruelly abandoned, found stray, and then wound up in an overcrowded shelter where she quickly became Urgent. Through all of that, and even at her 1st vet appt with us where she was handled all around her eyes and face, she has been nothing but a complete doll.<br/><br/>EVERYONE who meets this sweetheart loves her instantly! <br/><br/>We would love for Dixie to have another friendly dog in her forever home. She definitely enjoys cuddling with her doggy foster sister, and it helps her navigate to have another dog to follow around.
