Dixie Lu Turner's Story

Meet Dixie
Dixie is a tiny little girl, around 4 years old and about 6 pounds, with a gentle heart looking for the right forever home.

She is house trained and does well in a calm, predictable environment. Dixie is a nervous little lady who will need a quiet, adults-only home where she can feel safe and secure. Because she does have some separation anxiety, she would do best with someone who is home most of the time and can give her the reassurance she needs.

Dixie can be protective of her belongings and has been known to snap if someone tries to take something away from her, so she will need a patient adopter who understands how to work with her boundaries using positive reinforcement.

With time, patience, and a peaceful home, Dixie has the potential to blossom into a devoted companion for someone willing to help her build confidence. She is not a good fit for a home with children, but for the right person, this tiny girl could become a very special best friend.

Please apply at tzuzoorescue.com if you are interested in adopting from Tzu Zoo Rescue. More information available by contacting tzrinquiries@tzuzoorescue.com.

[NOTE: We are a rescue NOT a shelter, meaning WE DO NOT HAVE A FACILITY THAT OPENS TO THE PUBLIC. Typically, an application and home visit (both of which are required for adoption) MUST be completed, BEFORE a potential adopter will be introduced to one of our pets, in order to first determine that our basic adoption requirements are met, prior to introductions being made. We also utilize personal reference and vet checks (to ensure that any pets already in the potential adoptive home are current on vaccines, heart worm prevention and sterilized) in our adoption process, all of which is intended to ensure that the best match, between pet and people, is made. The adoption fee is based on on the dog's age.
