Dixie is a nervous little lady who will need a quiet, adults-only home where she can feel safe and secure. Because she does have some separation anxiety, she would do best with someone who is home most of the time and can give her the reassurance she needs.<br/><br/>Dixie can be protective of her belongings and has been known to snap if someone tries to take something away from her, so she will need a patient adopter who understands how to work with her boundaries using positive reinforcement.<br/><br/>With time, patience, and a peaceful home, Dixie has the potential to blossom into a devoted companion for someone willing to help her build confidence. We also utilize personal reference and vet checks (to ensure that any pets already in the potential adoptive home are current on vaccines, heart worm prevention and sterilized) in our adoption process, all of which is intended to ensure that the best match, between pet and people, is made. The adoption fee is based on on the dog's age.
