She is 17 lbs, and estimated to be around 50lbs full grown. This beautiful girl is coming to us with her sisters after we rescued them from a high-kill shelter in Texas where we knew these precious puppies simply couldn't stay. Now Dixie is ready to find a family of her very own!<br/><br/>Dixie is a bright little girl who is already showing us that she is going to be a fast learner. Blue Heelers are known for being incredibly intelligent, and Dixie is no exception! She will be a very fun puppy to train! Of course, she is still just 4 months old, so her new family should be prepared for all the normal puppy stuff: potty training, learning manners, teething, chewing, and figuring out the world one adventure at a time!<br/><br/>Personality wise, Dixie is a total sweetheart. She is very friendly, loves other dogs, and absolutely LOVES to play! She enjoys running around, wrestling with her puppy friends, and generally having the best time wherever she goes. She has that fun, energetic puppy personality that will keep her family laughing and entertained.<br/><br/>Dixie would love an active home that wants a dog who can grow up alongside them and be part of the fun. She'll need plenty of exercise, playtime, mental stimulation, and continued training as she grows. A doggy sibling who enjoys playing would be a wonderful bonus!<br/><br/>Dixie is going to make an amazing companion for someone who is ready for the commitment and adventure of raising a puppy. She's smart, affectionate, social, and absolutely precious, and we can't wait to watch her grow into the incredible dog we know she can be.<br/><br/>Dixie would do great in a home with someone who works from home, and has the time and energy to train a young puppy. We would feel comfortable with her going to a family with kids 6+ years of age.<br/><br/>Since Dixie is just a puppy, she's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show her the way. We are not willing to adopt to someone who is unable to commit to taking Dixie to puppy socialization classes and training.<br/><br/>Dixie has been fully vetted, and is in great health. She has received her first 2 (of 3) puppy shots, and her rabies, and bordatella. Being so young, will still need one more booster shot before she can go out on public ground / adventures. <br/>Rain is also too young to be spayed at this time. Farfel's does not cover any vaccines after pick up, however we DO cover the full cost of her spay when that time comes. Dixie is too young to be spayed, but when she is 6-8 months old we will cover the full cost.<br/>Spay is REQUIRED to finalize any adoption. Per the state of Colorado, you will be legally considered a foster until the dog is spayed. Spay must be done before or by the time she turns 1 year old, NO later.<br/><br/>Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog.
