Meet Diva! She is a gorgeous 5-year-old, 65-pound white husky mix with stunning blue eyes who carries herself with a calm, graceful demeanor. Diva loves hanging close by her person, enjoys stretching out for a good snooze right next to you on the couch, and is learning to understand and respect household routines. Because dogs often respond to different environments and people in various ways, she has been adapting wonderfully in our home, but she may appreciate a patient transition as she settles into a new routine.<br/><br/>Manners & Training:<br/>Around the House: Diva has not had any accidents in the house while kept on a consistent schedule. She is learning that four paws stay on the floor when greeting people, as she can get enthusiastic.<br/><br/>Leash Skills: She is learning to walk at a relaxed pace with her handler and has done well on public outings, remaining relatively unfazed by her surroundings.<br/><br/>Using Her Voice: Diva uses her voice to let you know when she is excited—especially around dinnertime or when getting ready for a walk. We are working on using quiet cues, and she responds well to gentle redirection and verbal boundaries.<br/><br/>Energy & Lifestyle:<br/>Every dog's energy looks a bit different, but Diva is a pretty laid-back dog who finds that a daily walk or two, some outdoor time exploring a fenced yard, and plenty of napping help her stay happy. She enjoys rare, fun bursts of daily zoomies, but overall, downtime is her favorite part of the day! She loves being a shadow to her human and would make a loyal, affectionate companion.<br/><br/>Dog Sociability:<br/>Diva is a dog-friendly girl, though like many dogs, she appreciates a proper, slow introduction to feel completely comfortable with new canine friends. In our home, after a brief initial adjustment period, she has proven to be amazingly patient with a young, high-energy puppy. Even when a persistent puppy tries to playfully annoy her, Diva handles it with grace—mostly offering gentle patience or soft, fair corrections rather than harsh reactions, and they now happily share beds, couches, and peaceful walks together.<br/><br/>If you would like to be considered as a potential adopter for one of our great dogs, please go to our website- (SEE PINNED POST) and submit an application. Our application process includes landlord approval and vet checks. Please make sure all of your information is current and accurate, including a valid email address and phone numbers. Inaccuracies and/or incomplete data will delay and/or cancel your application. We strive to process all applications in a timely manner, but with the high volume of applications we are receiving, it is taking anywhere from 1-3 weeks. You may be contacted via email if there are concerns or questions. Once all of your information is reviewed and if your application is approved, you will be notified via email. Submitting an application and receiving an approval does not guarantee you will be adopting the dog you applied for. Once you move to the meet and greet process, you will be contacted by the foster family to further discuss the dog, and answer questions you may have, and if applicable, a meet and greet will be set up at our adoption center. Meet and greets are only set up with approved applicants, and we require all members in the household to be present, as well as any current dogs in the home. Meet and greets take place at our adoption center located in New Berlin. If you are proceeding with adopting a Lucky Mutt, we will require the dog to have a Martingale collar at the time of adoption, to ensure the dogs safety during the transition to a new home. <br/><br/>Current Adoption Fees Are:<br/>$425+tax for puppies to 3 years old<br/>$375+tax for ages 4-7<br/>$275+tax for ages 8 and up<br/>Bonded pairs vary<br/><br/>The adoption fee covers spay/neuter, up to date age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, general deworming, heartworm test, (if over 6 months) and a certified veterinary inspection. Please be aware, listed dog breeds are based on information provided and cannot be guaranteed. Submitting an application for a particular dog does not guarantee that you will be the applicant chosen, we receive several applications for each dog. Our adopters are picked based on the needs of the dog, and the home we feel with best fit based on your responses to our application, vet information and landlord requirements. Approved applicants not chosen for the dog you applied for, will be in active status for a period of six months. We encourage you to watch Petfinder, Facebook and our website for upcoming dogs.
