Dinky (FL)'s Story

This gregarious fellow is Dinky, aptly named since—despite his big personality—he weighs only 15 lbs. and stands just 12" tall. His small size makes everyone want to hold him, which is absolutely perfect in Dinky's mind! He loves being held like a baby, snuggling close to you, and sleeping with you burrowed under the covers. Being with people is his favorite part of life, though if people aren't available he will gladly make
do
with other dogs. He enjoys wrestling with them, racing around with them (doing zoomies and jumping on and off the furniture), trying to steal their toys, and even just hanging out and napping with them. His playfulness extends to people, too, and he is in heaven when you try to sneak up on him to take away his toy so that he can joyously outwit you at the last moment. When Dinky has alone time, he'll entertain himself chewing on bones and toys...or maybe taking a snooze under a blanket, warm laundry, or any other cover he can find. Dinky is 3-4 years-old and has already learned many important things like loose leash walking, sounding the alarm when the lawn guys come, letting you leave the house without agitation, and verbal cues like "sit", "off", "come," and "dance"! He is reliably house-trained as long as you notice him when he is sitting quietly near the door (or, just take him out every 3-4 hours and all will be good). Strangers coming into the home are going to be greeted excitedly by Dinky, who will bark while he runs to great them, likely even trying to jump into their arms or onto their laps. As soon as the stranger pats him or talks nicely to him or—even better—offers a treat, Dinky is more than willing to cease the barking and instead bask in their attention and affection—especially if the visitor is a female. Dinky does have a bit of a mischievous streak, which you can read about in his online photo album at http://www.ImageEvent.com/NewRattitude/Dinky . This adorable extrovert absolutely needs a home where he gets a lot of people time as well as a canine sibling or two.
