Diggs's Story

Diggs is a 4-year-old Black Mouth Cur with a beautiful multi-colored face and a deeply affectionate nature. While initially shy and scared in new environments, Diggs warms up with time and consistency and forms strong bonds with his people.

He has been actively working through separation anxiety and has made excellent progress, showing improved confidence, emotional regulation, and independence. With guidance from his veterinarian, Diggs has also had great success with medication that has significantly helped manage his anxiety, allowing him to better relax and learn. Diggs responds well to routine, structure, and positive reinforcement and will continue to thrive with adopters willing to maintain that consistency.

Diggs is a very athletic dog and will require a tall, secure fenced yard to safely burn off energy and explore his surroundings. He enjoys enrichment, daily walks, and being mentally engaged. Though he currently coexists with another dog, Diggs would do best as the only dog, allowing him to focus on his relationship with his adult humans.

He is potty-trained, food-motivated, and eager to participate in daily routines. Diggs is best suited for a calm household where he can receive companionship, guidance, and plenty of affection.

With the right home, Diggs will make a devoted, loving, and rewarding lifelong companion. Buffalo Underdogs Rescue's Adoption Policy
After our dogs are listed for adoption, you can apply online for the dog you are interested in meeting. *Buffalo Underdogs Rescue does not operate on a “first come, first served” basis. Our primary concern is that the dogs in our care go to the home that is best suited for them.* The foster parent of the dog will view all of the applications that are submitted for their foster dog. They will select the applicants that seem to be the best fit and call their personal and vet references. If your application appears to be the best fit for their foster dog, they will then contact you to set up a meet and greet at your house. They will also discuss the adoption requirements during this initial call. *Note: All members of the family must be present at the meet and greet.* If all goes well at the meet and greet, and the foster and family feel that this is the best fit, arrangements will be made to complete the adoption. In order to adopt, you must have an appropriately sized collar (or harness, if required), leash and a dog tag with your telephone number.
