Weighing approximately 75 pounds, he is in his prime and thrives when he has a job to do.

He is an excellent waterfowl dog — fully trained and experienced with e-collar work. Hunting ducks and swimming are his absolute passions. Give him a lake, a marsh, or open land and he is in his element. He would be a dream companion for an avid duck or pheasant hunter.

At home, Diesel is well behaved, comfortable on leash (walks well with an easy lead)
Is not destructive and has free-range in the house and loves to settle and relax after exercise

While he has the drive and stamina typical of his breed, he has matured nicely and knows how to wind down when it’s time.

⸻

The Right Home for Diesel

Diesel is deeply loving and loyal with his adult family members. However, he can be reactive toward small children and is selective with dogs, has reacted to unfamiliar dogs on his property. Because of this, he requires a very specific home:
• Adult-only household
• No children
• No other dogs
• Experienced dog owner (ideally familiar with working breeds)
• Large property or access to land
• Ideally a hunting home

He has tolerated some dogs over time with slow introductions but would do best as the only dog in the home. Children are a significant trigger for him, and for everyone’s safety, he cannot be placed in a home with kids.

Why He’s Being Rehomed

Diesel is loved deeply. This decision has been heartbreaking for his family. With the recent arrival of a baby and Diesel’s escalating discomfort around children, they have made the incredibly difficult but responsible decision to seek a safer, more suitable environment where he can thrive.

⸻
Diesel’s Ideal Match

Diesel would flourish with:
• A single person or couple
• Active, outdoorsy lifestyle or hunting lifestyle
• Someone who understands structure, boundaries, and working-dog needs

In the right environment, Diesel is affectionate, loyal, driven, and devoted. He bonds strongly with his people and gives his whole heart.

⸻

If you believe you can provide the experienced, structured, adult-only home Diesel needs, we would love to hear from you.
