This has been a truly gut-wrenching decision, but his family wants to do what’s best for Diesel and ensure he continues to receive the love and care he deserves.<br/><br/>Diesel was pulled from a high-kill shelter 2.5 years ago, where his family was told he was around 2 years old at the time. He is neutered, crate trained, and knows many commands. Diesel is an amazing lap dog who loves affection and does wonderfully with kiddos.<br/><br/>Due to mounting medical bills, Diesel does need updated vaccines, a heartworm test, and heartworm prevention. His last veterinary visit was in February 2024.<br/><br/>Diesel gets along well with dogs of all sizes. Cats are unknown. He does have some anxiety when left alone for long periods, so a home where he isn’t left by himself too much would be ideal. Also, fair warning—Diesel is a counter surfer, so unattended food may disappear! 😉<br/><br/>If you’re unable to adopt, fostering Diesel for GDRST would be an incredible way to help both Diesel and his family during this difficult time. The adoption contributions help defray the costs of vetting services, but rarely, if ever, cover all expenses. Additional donations are welcomed and appreciated. Each animal will be spayed or neutered, fully vaccinated, heartworm tested, heartworm treated if applicable, fecal tested, de-wormed, microchipped and monthly heartworm preventative<br/><br/>Please note GDRST is an all-volunteer, run by individuals with full time careers. In order to meet with a Dane that you are interested in, please complete our online application.
