Dick Chasey's Story

Dick Chasy (AKA Dick Tracy) is an 18-month-old Schnauzer mix with a bright, happy spirit and an affectionate, people-loving personality.<br/><br/>He was found tied to a shopping cart outside a Food 4 Less in North Hollywood. The kind man who discovered him searched the surrounding area and waited with him for over an hour in hopes of finding his owner. When no one came forward, he posted him on Nextdoor. He had no microchip or tag, and nobody claimed him. A local rescuer heard his story and connected with Shelter Hope so he could be safely placed and find a loving home.<br/><br/>Dick Chasy is sweet, happy, and very friendly. He gets along well with other dogs and has a gentle, social nature that makes him fun to be around. He is also smart and communicative, with a goofy, expressive personality that truly shines. He loves attention, enjoys being close to his people, and has an affectionate, engaging way about him. <br/><br/>He is also a jumper, so he would do best in a home with a tall, secure fence to keep him safe while he plays and explores.<br/><br/>Now safe and cared for, Dick Chasy is ready to find a forever home where he can be loved, understood, and finally settle into the happy life he deserves!<br/><br/>----<br/><br/>Looking to Adopt? <br/><br/>Step 1) Apply Online <br/>Submit a rescue questionnaire! Shelter Hope Pet Shop's Adoption Policy
Shelter Hope is operating by APPOINTMENT ONLY. Dogs are only brought into the shop if an application to meet the dog is approved and an appointment is made. More about our process: STEP 1: APPLICATION If you're interested in adopting, please fill out a rescue questionnaire. Please be thorough in your answers. We do not place dogs on a first come first serve basis, but rather to the home best suited for them. Be ready to adopt, as adoptions can happen quickly. Only apply for dogs that every family member agrees on, and wait to submit your application until after your vacation. STEP 2: PHONE INTERVIEW If your application is approved, our rescue counselor will contact you for a phone interview. Please be patient, as this process may take several days. Due to the high volume of applications, especially for popular dogs, not all applicants will be contacted. Moreover, we often interview multiple candidates before selecting the best match and scheduling an adoption appointment. STEP 3: ADOPTION APPOINTMENT The appointment is a meet-and-greet at our shop at the Janss Marketplace in Thousand Oaks. If you choose to adopt, the process is completed with an adoption fee and a signed contract. Adoptions include: - 10% off training at Zoom Room Thousand Oaks - A free day at doggy daycare at Barks N' Rec - A free grooming at Indiana Bones - A free check-up with Slaton Veterinary Hospital - A free 30 minute visit from Valley Pet Sitting - A free collar, tag, harness & leash As well as all the vaccines they've had thus far, the microchip, and the spay/neuter. And most importantly, the lasting reward of saving a life and welcoming a new member into your family!
