Dexter

Dexter is very protective of his people and does not like strangers coming near his family or into his home. It will take extra time but he is worth it! he will need to be put into another room and possibly crated when visitors come over. We will ask that you come out multiple times to visit if you are considering Dexter to be a part of your household. He is a great dog with the staff as he has gotten to know us! <br/><br/>Although we love and care for all of our 4 legged residents as if they were our own it will take time for them to adjust to a home environment. <br/><br/>*What to expect when adopting*<br/>Some pets might adjust sooner or some may take a little longer. Please be patient with them. Most of them we will never know their back story or what they have been through before coming into the shelter. <br/><br/>In the first 3 days they might be scared and not eat, drink or interact with you.<br/>In the first 3 weeks they will start to recognize your family routine and start to show their personality. <br/>It may take up to 3 months for them to build trust with you, get set in your routine and feel comfortable in your home.
