Dexter is a 3 year old, approximately 65 lb German Shepherd looking for a fresh start. He’s an intelligent, affectionate house dog who enjoys being part of a family and thrives with structure, routine, and connection.<br/><br/>He already knows sit, down, twirl, and even “play dead,” and he loves engaging with his people. He’s been described as very sweet and is the kind of dog who bonds closely and wants to be involved.<br/><br/>Dexter is a higher-energy dog who will need regular exercise and consistency. He’s strong and can be unaware of his size, so he’ll do best in a home comfortable handling a large, active dog. He has been friendly with children.<br/><br/>He does have a high prey drive and will need a home without cats or small animals. He is house-trained and used to living in a home.<br/><br/>Dexter’s situation is urgent, and we are working to secure placement quickly.
