Dewey's Story

Now Hiring: Lap Heater & Backyard Patrol. DEWEY is overqualified!

Meet Dewey, a 3-year-old Schnauzer/mix who's ready to fill not one, but two important roles in your life: professional lap warmer and certified backyard security guard! This handsome boy is full of spunk and loves nothing more than running, romping, and showing off his zoomies. At times, Dewey can be a little hesitant with new people, but once he decides you're part of his crew, his affectionate side shines through - and that tail won't stop wagging! After playtime, Dewey is all about companionship, pets, and curling up by your side.

Dewey came to WCAS as a stray; however, we believe he likely came from a home with many other dogs, and because of that, he didn't always get the care and consistency he needed. Since arriving at WCAS, he has made great progress, but he will still need some patience and guidance from his future adopter! Dewey can sometimes be protective of his food and, at times, his toys. With understanding, consistency and the help of a patient and knowledgeable adopter, he will continue to grow into the wonderful companion we know he can be! Given Dewey's needs, we believe he is best suited for a home with no children.

Although Dewey came to WCAS as a stray, we believe he may do well in a home with other animals as long as proper, slow introductions are performed.

Dewey is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and given a flea and tick preventative as well as a heartworm preventive.

Apply today - Dewey's ready to report for duty... and cuddles! Fill out an adoption application on our website or get in touch with us at (920) 279-9795 or wausharacoanimalshelter@gmail.com!
