Dewey's Story

Somewhere between “tiny gentleman” and “absolute chaos” lives DEWEY!

Dewey is an almost 4-year-old miniature schnauzer/mix, and he is the life of the party - a joyful, spirited pup with a personality that lights up every room he enters! Whether he’s happily tapping his little tippy toes in excitement or curling up for a relaxed evening at home, Dewey brings the perfect balance of fun-loving energy and calm companionship.

This handsome guy walks beautifully on a leash, is crate trained, and already knows how to settle nicely on a place cot, making him a genuinely well-mannered companion to have around the house. Dewey enjoys both people and other dogs, and he truly thrives in an environment that provides consistent structure, clear boundaries, and a little patience while he settles into a new routine!

Dewey would do best with older children, or with a family that is prepared to provide extra guidance around little ones. He does have some resource guarding tendencies, but with proper management and boundaries in place, it is very manageable. Dewey is neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and given a flea and tick preventative as well as a heartworm preventive.

And the best part? Whoever adopts Dewey will receive FIVE free training sessions courtesy of Sarah Jo at More Dog Behavior LLC - giving his future family an incredible foundation and all the tools they need to help him succeed. With the right home, Dewey is ready to become an incredibly loyal, loving, and endlessly entertaining companion!

The perfect mix of goofy, loving, and loyal - Dewey is ready for his fresh start! Please fill out an adoption application on our website - for any additional information or questions, please contact the shelter at wausharacoanimalshelter@gmail.com or (920) 279-9795.
