Denver's Story
Meet Denver! He is ready to find his forever home.

Denver the dachshund is around 4 years old and 17 pounds. He is adorable and cuddly, but there are some things to consider before adopting him.

Denver came to us after being used for breeding and consequently has some back pain. He has had cold laser treatment therapy and responded well. He currently has no noticeable issues, but this may change with time, so his future parents would need to be able to pursue further treatment as necessary. Denver takes cosequin daily and would need to continue that, as well as pain meds as needed. His adoptive home would need to have little to no steps/stairs or use pet ramps to avoid straining his back.

Denver likes other dogs but can be protective of toys. He absolutely loves to play with toys and is great at fetch. He is crate trained and mostly housebroken, continuing to make progress.

Denver is smart but can be stubborn. He gets really attached to his person; he will be your shadow. So, he would prefer someone that is home more than not to give him the attention and love he craves. He needs attention almost as much as food, which he is also a huge fan of. He can be a barker to 'protect' his people from anything and everything; consider whether neighbors are close enough to care.

If you think you could be a good fit for his needs, Denver has deep love, devotion, and lots of snuggles to offer in return.
https://www.woodstockanimalfoundation.org/adopt-a-dog/
Location is Lexington
