Dennis's Story

Aussie Rescue of the Mid-Atlantic - ARMA is excited to accept applications for Dennis!

Dennis a 10-month-old red tri male Aussie, under 40 lbs., bursting with personality, athleticism, and affection.

Dennis is your classic Aussie teenager: high energy, super smart, playful, and still learning the ropes. He thrives with structure and would do best with an experienced owner who understands working breeds and can give him room to run, daily exercise, and continued training. He is not a fit for first-time dog owners or apartment living. He's already picking up commands and even understands his foster's back-door bells - proof that this guy wants to learn.

Dennis absolutely loves his humans. He's very affectionate, eager to connect, and happiest when he's included in the action. He'd make an amazing hiking buddy and has all the makings of a great sport dog thanks to his drive, herding instincts, and athletic build.

Dennis also has a big ego and is still figuring out boundaries - including that cats are not for chasing. Because of this, we are recommending Dennis as an only pet. He's very much in his teenage phase and needs guidance, consistency, and positive reinforcement to help channel his energy in healthy ways.

Dennis is not yet neutered, so he is being placed as foster-to-adopt, allowing ARMA to assist with his medical care while he continues to settle in and learn. If you're an approved ARMA adopter and interested in Dennis, please reach out to the volunteer with whom you've been working. If you'd like to be approved to adopt Dennis, our application can be found on our website - https://aussierescueofthemidatlantic.org/
