Dennie's Story
PUPDATE JUN-7-2025: Dennie here! I'm getting old (2) lol and I need my own home. I'm a little stubborn but sweet as can be once I know you. I love to be outside and can run for days so I must have a fenced yard. I've been slow to do things NOT my way but I'm so good inside. I just don't like to come in from outside. I snuggle in bed and give kisses and while it might take awhile with a new family for me to get there, I'm worth it. I love love toys and I really need a playmate! I don't have a mean bone in my body. I just need someone patient enough to let me get used to things slowly.

PUPDATE MAR-4-2025: A song from a Yard to a Rescue Dog (for March)
“Oh, Dennie Boy, the foster mom is calling
From the door that is now open wide.
The day is gone, and the night is falling.
It's you, it's you, must leave and go inside.
But come ye back when morning’s here, you fellow,
To do a pee or sniff the grass below.
Your yard is here, in sunshine or in shadow!
Oh, Dennie Boy, oh Dennie Boy, I love you so!”

Do you have a yard that Dennie can play in?

PUPDATE FEB-3-2025: I love my foster mom and I will snuggle, kiss, and sit on her lap, but I still run away frum her outside and don't like her picking me up when we're inside. I will get on the couch wif her grandson, but if that kid moves - WHOOSH! I'm gone! I just am a special kid who needs a patient home to settle down in.

PUPDATE DEC-18-2024: Foster mom reports that Dennie is now on medication and it's helping his anxiety so much! "He jumped up on the couch with my grandson for a minute and took a treat from him!...He will come around for the right person."

PUPDATE NOV-5-2024: I got my hair did! Don’t I look cute as anything?!! Foster mom says not only am I cute, but she thinks I’m really a Central Iowa mountain goat! I’m always on top of the brush pile and eating sticks and paper and stuff like that.

PUPDATE OCT-3-2024: Foster mom says I’m such a loving dog with her, but if somebody else comes, I hide. I don’t know how to tell her, but… I SEE DEAD PEOPLE! Yep! That’s the real reason I hide. They follow the strangers in and I’m really hiding from them. But I get used to the ghosties after I’ve been around them a while. I did that at Ant Carrie’s, and I warmed up to foster mom and her ghosties, too. If you adopt me and you’re nice and gentle with me, it will just take me some time to get used to you and your ghosties, and then I’ll be all kisses and cuddles.

PUPDATE SEP-20-2024: Calling all humans! Calling all humans! It’s me, Dennie, and I just want to let everyone know that my foster mama said… I’m ‘way less shy’ now! Can I get a “WHOOP! WHOOP!”?! I’m LESS shy! That means so much for rescue dog like me.

You want more? Okay… I love waking my foster mom up in the morning by standing on her chest and giving her little kisses. Photo? Well, she’s mostly still asleep, so not really up to taking pics when I’m doing this.

And she also said I’m too cute because I’m always running around with a toy in my mouth. I love toys! She can’t really get a photo of this, either, because hey – I’m running! So it would just be a furry blur with something that looks maaaaaybe like a toy somewhere in the shot.

So we’re sticking with my ‘Interview’ meme pic above for now, but just wanted to pupdate everyone on my pawgress. Later!

PUPDATE SEP-7-2024: DENNIE HERE! Did you read below that my foster family said that I’m ‘goofy’?! Who they callin’ ‘goofy’? Just because I allegedly stole ‘something’? If you’re gonna accuse a boy of a crime, you should be more spawcific about it – what did I grab? When did I grab this mysterious ‘something’? Where did I run to? All seems very suspicious to me.

I will admit to the spooning in bed, though. I will come close for a touch and kiss in bed rather than anywhere else.

My favorite thing is to do zoomies outside with my pal Reggie, so if any family has another fast dog for me to play with – wow! I’m for you!

PUPDATE AUG-11-2024: Dennie is a very goofy little guy. He's basically a puppy who loves to grab something and run. He loves other dogs and does good with cats too. He enjoys going out but still needs help on potty training. He sleeps in bed with his foster Mom and usually drapes himself over another buddy. He definitely needs to have another play mate so if you're interested in this cutie patootie, please fill out an application.

PUPDATE JUN-30-2024: Dennie is a little Poodle/Pekingese mix boy that is 1 year young and comes in at around 11 pounds. He comes with another brother and 2 sisters too. He is very shy but wants to be loved. He would love to have another young dog to play with and it would help him adjust. He goes to the Dogtor in a couple weeks so stay tuned for pupdates and pictures :)

Visit me, Jordan, Boss of EveryPuppy of the Universe, by going to the FluffyButts Rescue Resort at www.fluffybutts.com.

Fill out an application on our website (www.fluffybutts.com) if you're interested in being adopted by this cute kid. It's the first step in the pawcess.

ADOPTIONS: We don't let the fact that you might live out of state stop any adoption that's meant to be, but you MUST be willing to drive, or fly, all the way to pick up your new family member. We do not ship these kids on airplanes by themselves - we think they'd have a hard time getting through security without their rabies tag setting off the metal detectors. If the kid needs a health certificate because they're flying home, that will be an expense for the new family.

ADOPTION DONATIONS: When you see the adoption donation amounts, we'd like you to know that 90% of the time the donation amount doesn't even come close to covering that kid's dogtor bills. This is definitely not a money-making venture. We're usually so far in the hole but the impawtant thing is to get these kids the medical care they need and help them find the pawfect family. That's our top pawority. (I just can't resist using "paw" whenever I can!)

POTTY TRAINING: Please note that we NEVER say our kids are 100% potty-trained. How stupid would we be to say something like that? If you're willing to be trained by your new family member, please fill out an application. If you're looking for a totally potty-trained kid, you may as well stop at the toy store on your way home from work and buy a stuffed toy because those are the only reliable ones to NOT potty in your home. There is a period of adjustment, not just for the new family member but for everyone in the house. You must be patient, understanding, and willing to work with your new family member. It can take anywhere from several days to several months. You must be 100% committed to this, it's a lifetime commitment.

HUG AND KISS YOUR KIDLETS LIKE THERE'S NO TOMORROW.

Please be patient with us - we're taking care of a lot of kids - our own and the foster kids - and we have families, homes and full time jobs. We're giving meds to the sick kids, playing with the healthy kids, and loving on all the kids. We're doing their laundry, trying to teach them manners and where to do their business, and cleaning up their accidents. In other words, we're just a little busy but we'll return email inquiries just as fast as we pawssibly can. Thanks

Oh, Dennie Boy, oh Dennie Boy,
