Denali's Story

Denali’s mom was found as a pregnant stray. A kind person in the community saw her and took her in. She had her puppies, including Denali, at the foster home. Denali recently traveled from Texas to the PNW to find his forever family. He is fostered in Happy Valley, Oregon and is available to meet prospective adopters.
Denali has done great with every dog he meets of various ages and sizes. He is fostered with an older dog and is learning boundaries from the resident dog. Denali enjoys being around children, especially if they have dog toys and are willing to play with him. He is a sweet puppy. He enjoys a good belly rub or chin scratch and hanging out with his people.
Denali is curious about cats and wants to tag along with them around the house, sometimes barking at them, while wagging his tail. He is still young enough to learn all about living with cats and could be a great fit for a dog savvy cat who is willing to teach a new puppy the ropes of when the cat wants to play or be left alone to nap.
Denali has access to a doggie door at his foster home and is doing well at potty training with only the occasional accident. He is doing really well for his age. His foster is still working with him on crate training. He isn’t a huge fan of sleeping in a crate, but he does really well when crated in a car and tends to nap while on road trips. He is a good traveler. Leash training is going well, and he responds well to verbal corrections if he gets distracted while on a walk.
Denali’s birthday is June 12, 2026, making him 17 weeks old (almost 4 months). He currently weighs 30 lbs. We think he is a dutch shepherd/husky mix, and will be a medium size dog as an adult.
Denali is neutered, vaccinated for rabies, DHPP and Bordetella. He is also microchipped, heartworm negative and is current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.

Denali is fostered in Happy Valley, Oregon. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out the application found here: https://throwadogabone.org/adopt.
