Animal Control freed her and rushed her to the vet—where it was discovered she was pregnant and nearly full term.<br/><br/>Her owner was located, but heartbreakingly could not keep her due to Delta becoming dog-selective and not tolerating female dogs. However, this could be situational due to her pregnancy. Wanting what was safest for Delta and her unborn pups, her owner made the difficult decision to surrender her.<br/><br/>Despite everything she’s endured, Delta Dawn remains a gentle, loving soul.<br/><br/>About Delta Dawn<br/><br/>Very mellow, affectionate “velcro dog” who just wants love<br/><br/>Housebroken<br/><br/>Appears to know basic commands and sits nicely for treats<br/><br/>Wonderful manners indoors<br/><br/>Pulls a bit on leash but is easy to manage<br/><br/>Gravitate toward other dogs, but currently being kept separate due to advanced pregnancy<br/><br/>Dog selective (no female dogs recommended) however this may change after she births her pups. <br/><br/>She is incredibly sweet, people-oriented, and simply wants a safe place to rest and deliver her babies.<br/><br/>Temporary Foster Needed (Mama + Puppies)<br/><br/>We urgently need a temporary foster for Delta Dawn and her pups once they are born.<br/><br/>This would only be short-term, from delivery until sometime between the 10th and the 24th, when Delta already has placement lined up with another rescue.<br/><br/>However—if Delta Dawn finds her forever home before then, that placement can instead go to another pregnant mama in need.<br/><br/>Supplies and support will be provided.<br/><br/>Adoption Also Considered<br/><br/>If Delta Dawn finds an adopter or forever foster now, it would change everything—not just for her, but for other dogs waiting behind her.<br/><br/>She deserves stability, softness, and a family of her own after everything she’s survived.<br/><br/>How to Help<br/><br/>To foster or adopt Delta Dawn, please apply through:<br/><br/>Friends Furever Animal Rescue<br/><br/>Friends Furever Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.<br/>Foster applications and adoption applications can be submitted through the rescue.<br/><br/>If you can open your home—even temporarily—please step forward.
