Delilah's Story

Delilah is a young hound who came from a rough situation in rural Oklahoma and is now settling happily into foster life in Tulsa. She's sweet, curious, and a little shy at first, but once she's comfortable she wants to know where you are and will check in if you're not sitting with her.
She's mostly house trained, comes when called, understands "no," and "uh-uh," and goes into her crate easily. She sleeps quietly and waits patiently to be let out.
Delilah gets along well with other dogs, and is always down to join in on squirrel patrol. This girl loves to run in the yard- she's fast, graceful, and clearly enjoys stretching her legs and just being a dog. She'd do best in a home that gives her a little time to settle and lets her keep building confidence. All Delilah wants is a home to call her own, enough yard space to hit full speed and feel the wind in her ears, and someone to be nearby while she figures it all out.

Helpless Hounds Dog Rescue's Adoption Policy
For a complete list of our adoption criteria, please visit: https://www.helplesshounds.com/faqs NOTE: You must complete and submit an application and be approved to adopt prior to being able to meet the dog. We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always try to select the right applicant for each dog, based on the dog’s needs and try to find the best match for both dog and human. We leave a dog’s profile online until either it has been adopted, or has received several applications. We are a non-profit organization that spends our adoption fees and donations on vaccinations, surgeries, various medical tests, medicines, food and supplies needed by our dogs. Our fees do not cover the overall expenses incurred by the care of our dogs, but they do help defray the costs involved. We thank you for your support.
