Delilah's Story

Delilah is vaccinated and ready for foster or adopter! She is approximately 1 year old and the vet said it looks like she may have already had puppies. She is a petite girl, very friendly with humans and very friendly with other dogs. We do not know much about this petite girl, but she has quickly won over a lot of our volunteers. She's gentle, curious and a little timid but we can tell, with the right person she will bloom!<br/><br/>If you are interested in meeting me, or any of my friends at the kennels, please send an email to blueislandstrays@gmail.com<br/><br/>Adoption fee includes their spay/neuter, rabies, chip, HW, distemper & poop test.

Blue Island Stray Dog Project's Adoption Policy

We have potential adopters fill out an application (linked on PetFinder or please email Blueislandstrays@gmail.com). Once we get a potential adopters application, we process background checks, vet checks, and reference checks. We like to speak and get to know the adopter to ensure a good fit and set up the adopter and the dog for success! Once approved for adoption, we like to conduct home visits when possible, and if a potential adopter has another dog in the house, we make it mandatory for dog meets with the other dog; sometimes, more than once.
