Thankfully, someone found the boys and got them to safety, where The Comeback Pack welcomed them into rescue. We named them Sam and Dean after the Winchester brothers from Supernatural because they'd already survived their first monster—the human who abandoned them.<br/><br/>We think Dean may have been the runt, but what he lacks in size, he more than makes up for with confidence, charm, and personality.<br/><br/>Dean has a way of making everyone around him laugh. Whether he's confidently investigating something new, inviting every dog he meets to play, or happily soaking up attention from anyone willing to give it, Dean approaches life with endless enthusiasm and a constantly wagging tail.<br/><br/>When the excitement winds down, Dean transforms into a world-class snuggler. He loves curling up beside his people after a busy day, reminding you that underneath all that playful energy is an incredibly loving little puppy.<br/><br/>Raised around other dogs and cats, Dean is growing into a wonderfully social, well-rounded companion. Heelers were bred to work, solving problems and herding livestock by nipping at their heels. That instinct is part of who he is, so we're looking for adopters who understand the breed and are excited to channel Dean's intelligence into training, enrichment, and positive outlets. Dean will make an exceptional family dog for people who appreciate both his affectionate nature and his working-dog instincts.<br/><br/>We expect Dean to mature to approximately 40 pounds.<br/><br/>Because responsible rescue matters, Dean must be neutered between 4 and 6 months of age. This policy is firm and will be strictly enforced to help prevent future unwanted litters. His neuter is included in his adoption fee, and because of this requirement, preference will be given to qualified local adopters.
