Dea's Story

Meet Dea —A Sweet, Gentle Girl Who Will Steal Your Heart

Dea is a beautiful 112-year-old, 40-pound girl with a gentle heart, a sweet nature, and so much affection waiting to be shared.

Soft, sensitive, and incredibly endearing, Dea is the kind of dog who may take a little time to get comfortable, but once she does, she forms a beautiful bond with her people. She enjoys being close, receiving affection, and simply sharing the quiet moments of everyday life.

Dea has a moderate energy level and appreciates a calm, predictable environment. She enjoys her walks and spending time with other dogs, but she also knows how to settle and relax. She is intelligent, food motivated, and eager to please, which makes positive training a wonderful way to build both her confidence and her connection with her adopter.

Dea is friendly with other dogs and would especially enjoy sharing her home with a friendly, confident canine companion. Having another dog to follow, learn from, and bond with could help her feel secure as she adjusts to her new life.
Dea can also thrive as the only dog with a patient adopter who will provide consistency, structure, affection, and the time she needs to gain confidence.

She is gentle with children and neutral around cats.
Dea is already crate trained and walks nicely on leash, and her potty training is underway. At only 112 years old, she has her whole life ahead of her and is ready to continue learning alongside her new family.

Deas story makes her trusting nature even more special. She was abandoned on the streets along with her companions, Oliver and Daphne, after their owner moved away. Thankfully, they were rescued by our partner, SOS El Arca Animal Rescue, and brought to safety.

Oliver and Daphne have already made their journey to New York. Now we are hoping it will finally be Deas turn.
She has an opportunity to travel to New York, but she needs an adopter or foster-to-adopt home waiting for her in order to make the journey.

Dea is fully vetted: spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, dewormed, 4DX tested, and on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention with Simparica.

Dea may not be the first dog to rush over and greet a stranger, but give her a little time and youll discover just how special she is. With patience and kindness, her gentle heart opens and her sweet, affectionate personality begins to shine. Once Dea feels safe with you, she forms a deep bond built on trust and becomes a devoted companion who will happily stay by your side.

If you have a peaceful home and a little room in your heart for a gentle girl who just needs the chance to blossom, please consider Dea.

She has already watched her friends make it to New York. Now its Deas turn to find someone waiting for her.

To adopt or foster-to-adopt Dea, please complete our adoption application and email sosanimalwelfare@gmail.com.
