Daxter 's Story

Dax is an approximately 2-year-old Doberman who came out of the shelter as an untrained pup, and in just two weeks has made incredible progress. He now knows sit, down, shake, come, stay, wait (for food), and is doing amazing with potty training—no accidents in his foster home!

Dax is highly intelligent, very food motivated, and eager to learn. He’s improving on leash, learning the doggie door, and working through crate training after past neglect left him fearful. With patience and consistency, he’s thriving.

He’s a sweet, affectionate Velcro boy who bonds deeply once he trusts you. Like any young working-line Doberman, he can get overstimulated and may get mouthy or grab items to play—but it’s not aggression, and he’s improving every day with structure and guidance.

Dax would do best with an experienced, calm Doberman home, ideally no kids or cats, and either as an only dog or with very slow introductions. He needs exercise, enrichment, and most importantly—to be a loved indoor family member.

Once he’s had his energy outlet, he’s happy to settle in and be your big baby cuddle buddy. 🖤🐾
