Dax's Story

Meet Dax!

Dax is a tiny 2 year old Aussiedoodle with big blue eyes sparked with curiosity to a newfound freedom. This shy, timid puppy mill survivor is still figuring out what it means to be someone’s beloved companion, but he’s making sweet little strides every day!

His foster is greeted with a tail wag more often these days, and Dax is becoming more comfortable with gentle pets. Those may seem like small things, but for a boy like Dax, they’re huge milestones.

At around 15 pounds, Dax is a full-grown, non-shedding little guy who would love a patient person willing to let him blossom at his own pace. Once he feels comfortable, he loves being his foster’s little shadow, following along around the house and backyard. He’s also great on a leash and absolutely loves his kennel, which serves as his own safe space.

Dax is still working on his potty training and currently wears a belly band indoors as he learns the ropes. He also has a heart murmur, so ongoing veterinary monitoring throughout his life will be important. It doesn’t currently require medical intervention.

Dax needs a home that understands that trust takes time and that the best relationships are built with patience, kindness, and consistency. Watching him discover the comfort of a gentle touch and the safety of a loving home is sure to be a special experience for the person who gives him that chance. Could you be the one to show Dax just how wonderful life can be?

Apply to adopt Dax and give this tiny survivor the forever home he deserves!

ADOPTION FEE : $500
Please submit an application through our rescue, NOT a Petfinder inquiry
---------------------------------------
Apply to adopt here:
https://puppymillrescueteam.org/dog-adoption-application/

This dog is located in Greece NY. Puppy Mill Rescue Team 's Adoption Policy
ADOPTION POLICIES The Puppy Mill Rescue Team’s dogs are placed into adoptive homes within 60 miles of the foster home. We have foster homes in Rochester, NY, Buffalo, NY, and Macedonia, OH. When applying for a specific dog please check the profile to see where the dog is located. If you are not in this area and are looking to adopt, we recommend that you visit our Rescue Partners area or Petfinder.com to locate a rescue in your area. A legally binding Adoption Agreement must be signed at the time a dog is placed. The adoption donation varies and is included in the dog’s description on the website as well as in the Adoption Agreement. Adoption donations are not negotiable and payment must be made in full prior to or at the time of the placement of the dog. Please read prior to submission of an application for adoption. All potential homes must complete our adoption process which includes an application, meet and greet, home inspection and veterinary reference. Applicants must provide veterinary references if they have previously owned a pet and contact veterinary facilities to authorize release of their records to a PMRT representative upon request. Applicants who rent their homes must verify that they are permitted to have a dog and provide a landlord contact number on the adoption application. Landlords will be contacted in every case, no exception. The primary adopter must be at least 21 years old. We are solely committed to the dogs accepted into the rescue. We want to find them loving, permanent homes and go to great lengths to place the right dog into the right family. We reserve the right to decline any adoption based on what we feel is in the best interest of the dog.
