This sweet and silly baby just arrived to our rescue. He and his brother (pending adoption) were an owner surrender and we were happy to say yes to them. We even got mommy dog spayed. Dawson is wee... at 14 weeks old, he's just over 4#. His mom was not even 10# so we guess he will also be in that size range when fully grown. <br/><br/>Currently in foster - he is so fun. Dawson loves everyone, at first he was not sure about the foster's larger dogs, and did the typical Chihuahua bark. We think a home with previous small dog experience would be perfect. Due to this puppy’s smaller size, we aer looking for homes with children over the age of 8.<br/><br/>This puppy is neutered, microchipped and only needs one more puppy shot in 3-4 weeks. He has his rabies and his bordetella already. Being a puppy, they will need lots of training, including housebreaking. Remember, puppies are cute, but they have sharp teeth, need to be fed 3 times a day and poop... a lot! <br/><br/>The 3-3-3 rule is a guideline for transitioning a rescue dog into its new home and helping it to settle in. It suggests that the first three days should be used for adjusting to its new surroundings, the next three weeks for training and bonding, and the first three months for continued socialization and training.<br/><br/>Each dog goes home with a goody bag including collar/leash, toys, chews, Kong, and more. You will receive all medical records, microchip transfer form and other paperwork at the time of adoption. <br/><br/>Adoptions typically take place in Marysville. We don’t hold puppies, adoption applications may be approved in just a few days depending on how quickly references respond. If you are planning on a vacation or have an issue that may delay your ability to pick up your puppy within a few days of approval, please let us know in advance. <br/><br/>Adoption fee is $575. Save-A-Mutt is a registered 501c3 and half of your adoption fee may be tax deductible. <br/><br/>Save-A-Mutt is a foster based rescue, we do not have a facility to visit. Our adoptions are typically done Monday - Saturday, we are closed on Sunday’s to give our volunteers at least one day off. You must be available to do meets and adoptions during that time frame. We can make exceptions only with the approval of the foster home.<br/><br/>Please note, we have approximately a 300 mile adoption radius - Portland OR area and Vancouver BC is the farthest north. We don’t ship dogs, once approved you must pick them up in Snohomish County, WA. Canadian adopters must be able to come to Stanwood WA to pick up your puppy.
