Dawn's Story
ADOPTION PENDING!

LOCATION is Bath, NY.

Dawn is being fostered in Bath, NY.

Dawn is our beautiful, brown eyed, blue merle girl from Louisiana.
Her birthday is approximately 1-13-2025 and is sister to Delta.

Dawn come from a very rural area, so she was unable to have opportunities to develop typical puppy socialization skills and have human interaction experiences. Her sister was definitely her support system. She would definitely benefit from having a sibling dog to help teach her how to dog and be more confident.

Dawn does well with the other dogs, and rides well in the car (you have to pick her up and put her in the car).

Her foster Mom is awesome. She has experience with unsocialized dogs and puppy mill dogs.

Here are some notes from her foster Mom,-
- Dawn really wants to trust, she has gotten so much better but is definitely taking her time.
- She understands and accepts her new routine but if anything gets changed, there's steps backwards. So everything is baby steps.
- Gets excited for food, but won't eat in front of Mom. Just recently has accepted a treat from Mom's hand. (Big step!)
- Does great on a tie out in a fenced in yard
- Is improving on leash training / walking.
- Doesn't like to leave the room her crate is in. (Mom is working on it with her.)

We are looking for a forever home for her that is reasonably close to the Derby - Bath areas and has a fenced in yard and people who have experience and patience with unsocialized dogs. Experience with Catahoulas is a big plus.

Dawn is up to date on distemper, rabies, bordatella, tested hw negative, and is on heartworm preventative, flea and tick medicine, spayed and microchipped.

If you would like more information, have questions or would like an adoption application please email njcatahoulas@verizon.net .
