Dawn's Story

Don’t let her land-loving hippo looks fool you—Dawn may carry a little extra "love," but she’s full of personality, energy, and affection! This 6-year-old, fully vaccinated, spayed sweetheart is heartworm positive (treatment covered, don’t worry) and ready to trot her way into your heart.

Dawn loves people more than anything. She’ll happily sit on your lap, back up next to you for cuddles, grunt her approval, snore like a tiny, adorable foghorn, and even perform an excited little hop-and-song when you ask if she wants to go outside.

She’s a one-dog kind of lady—cats and other dogs? Not her vibe. She’ll let you know loud and clear with plenty of vocal commentary. But for her human? She’s loyal, loving, and basically the queen of personal space.

She’s carrying a bit of extra fluff right now, so she’ll need some controlled diet TLC and lots of walks (think: glow-up journey in progress!). She’s ready to strut her stuff, show off her trot, and maybe sneak in a car ride or two.

Ideal home: patient humans, cat-free, single-dog household, and someone ready to embrace a loving, funny, slightly dramatic best friend.

Adopt Dawn and get your very own personal hippo who will keep you laughing, snuggling, and walking every day!
