Dasher's Story

Dasher is a low rider and around 41 lbs--he is short but mighty. We were told he is not a fan of kids by the family that found him. SO we suggest a home without children. It is unknown how he is with cats. He has a chronic issue with his leg and will likely, at some point, need to be on meds for arthritis. Based on what our vet told us he was likely injured and the injury healed on it's own with out medical intervention. (he ran for nearly a month before he landed at the finders home so it is unknown what may have happened in that time frame)--we suspect he may have been struck by a car or possibly kicked by a horse. He limps on occasion and it should be monitored as he ages. ***it took the finder several days to get him to warm up to them before they called us.
He does like to go for walks, and can be playful. He is neutered, vaccinated, wormed, tested negative for heartworm, and is microchipped.
Dasher likes some dogs but can be selective, so a meet and greet is necessary and must be scheduled in advance.
He would likely do well in a low key quiet home----although he is still active.
If you have interest please call the shelter to schedule an appt or stop in during regular business hours to walk through the kennel.
Morrow County Dog Shelter, Mt.
