Dash's Story
We rescued loveable Dash from an Alabama high-kill shelter last month. He's such a little love bug we just couldn't leave him there! So.....doe-eyed Dash made the trip up North, and is absolutely thriving at his fosters' home. They have another dog, a cat, and lots of kids to play with and he's making friends with EVERYONE! He is 5 months old and about 35 lbs today (2/1), and with those long legs, we expect he's not quite done growing. Dash is very smart, and food motivated, and already started with his training. He know "sit" and "paw" and is always up to learn something new when there's a treat involved! He's almost completely housebroken - they keep wee-wee pads out when foster goes to work in case he can't hold it, and he uses them when there is no one to let him out. He NEVER has accidents in the home when someone is there to take him out, so he's 99% there.... He's also crate trained but he's so well-behaved in the house alone they don't bother. He just LOVES to play and run around, and exhibits NO bad behavior or aggression of any sort when playing or eating. His favorites are rope toys and a particular stuffed animal. His grumpy sister even lets him lay next to her (see photo), and she not very good at sharing! He LOVES to snuggle with the family, and just to be near. He's great on a leash, and great in the car, and just a happy guy, and happy to be with you whatever the game plan is! Foster loves his elegant walk, so straight and tall, and refers to him as "a gentleman". He politely doesn't bark much at all. Dash is just a terrific, happy, playful, snuggly little boy looking for same. He loves to stretch his legs, so a fenced in yard would be wonderful for him. He'll be the perfect hiking or jogging buddy, and we picture a loving, active forever family to complete this almost perfect boy. To meet our pup, please fill out the adoption application below.
