Dash's Story

Meet Dash! AKA Mash (as in the always loved and comforting, mashed potatoes) or Puff.

Dash is a 7 year old, chihuahua mix weighing in at 11 something-ish pounds. He is small and spry with olympic-style leaps. Dash is a sweet, gentle soul just looking for a loving and patient companion.

Must-knows:
- He comes with a few medical issues, epilepsy and a heart murmur. But he is stable and on regular medication. He has not had any episodes with his current foster family.
- He is 95% potty trained. He sleeps through the night with no accidents and can be left alone while you're at work. But he will need to go potty ASAP once you're up or when you return!

Good-to-knows:
- Excellent with other dogs. He has zero aggression. He does not demand attention from other dogs or invade their space. He would do well with a playmate similar in size and energy or even solo.
- Excellent with people. He warms up quickly. He likes being held or sitting in your lap, but also is comfortable being alone and curled up in his bed.
- He is great on a leash and harness. He's super curious and wants to sniff and explore. He'd be content with a few short walks/day as long as it is not super cold.
- Playtime and toys. He's playful in spurts and loves running after a toy or showing it off! He will let you know when he's ready to play.
- Naps and blankets are a must. Being a chihuahua, you know he loves his blankets and snuggles. He is perfectly content wrapped up as a burrito and sitting next to you on the couch or in his bed.
- Food and treats? Meh. He's not very food motivated, but likes a piece of cheese occasionally.
- Quiet. Dash is a ninja! You'll be wondering where is he and bam, he appears from around a corner in a silent fashion. He's not triggered by noises and rarely barks. He only barks when he's excited for a walk. He does not whine.
- How is he in a car? Rides like a champ. He likes to explore the car a little bit, but there is no car-related anxiety or illness.
- He sheds very little.
- He does not destroy or get into ANYTHING. He is very respectful of things and spaces.
