Dash's Story

Dash is a gorgeous 4-year-old longhaired Dachshund weighing about 16 pounds, and he has so much love to give. He came to us after the passing of his owner and has been adjusting bravely to all the changes in his life. Dash is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative. Dash is wonderfully social - he's dog friendly, cat friendly, and does great with children. He is fully house trained and has excellent manners in the home. He truly enjoys being with his people and forms strong bonds, which makes him such a loyal and affectionate companion. Because of his attachment to his humans, Dash does struggle with being alone and is not comfortable with crating. He would need an understanding adopter who is home often and willing to work patiently on confidence-building and separation training if crating is a goal. A home where he can be near his people as much as possible would be ideal for him. Dash is a loving, devoted boy who thrives on companionship and just wants to feel safe and secure again. With the right home and a little patience, he will make an incredibly rewarding best friend.
