Daryl's Story

Daryl, our 4 year old 14 pound dog, was found stray with a badly injured leg. The injury was old, so Daryl had been living with a useless (and painful) front limb for a while. You may assume that would make Daryl pretty pessimistic. You obviously haven't met our Daryl.

We took Daryl in so we could finally rid him of that bum leg. The day after surgery, Daryl was so thrilled that he took himself on a jog around a large fenced area (this was against medical advice; Daryl blazes his own path). Goodbye useless leg; Daryl has things to do.

At home, Daryl is an easy keeper. He's quiet, potty trained, crate trained, and not destructive. Daryl would love to curl up on someone's lap all evening. Although a bit reserved, Daryl is friendly and loves to be pet. He is polite when his people are eating; he just sits nearby hopeful that cheese might be dropped. Daryl has been fostered with dogs, cats and older children - he has done well with all of them.

Daryl loves to walk, but sometimes convinces himself he can go farther than he should. When tuckered out, Daryl is happy to park himself in some cool grass and let the wind blow his fur back. He is good on a leash and is always up for an adventure.

Daryl is heartworm negative and current on his flea and heartworm preventatives. His adoption fee is $350.

Have you been searching for someone to sit outside with and just enjoy the spring air? Apply to adopt on www.stumptownstrays.org!
