Darwin's Story
Darwin is available in the Georgina Area.

THIS IS A COURTESY LISTING for dog located in Ontario. It a small rescue not affiliated with A Dog's New Life.

**Character and Personality**
Darwin is a little dog (25 pounds) with a big presence. Once he trusts you, he is affectionate, silly, and incredibly motivated to work. He's off-leash trained, crate trained, neutral with other dogs in structured settings, and has grown tremendously in confidence throughout his time with us. He thrives with structure and engagement. Darwin enjoys food-based training, interactive play, and bonding through routine. He's not a 'take him home today' type of dog—he's a 'build a relationship and earn a fiercely loyal sidekick' kind of dog. His history includes bites in previous homes, which were rooted in fear and defensiveness. He does not tolerate being overwhelmed or mishandled. Since arriving with his trainer, he's made excellent progress, and his behavior reflects the power of trust, structure, and consistency.

**Ideal Home**
Darwin's perfect match would be:
- An adult-only household
- No cats or small animals
- Preferably no other dogs or only neutral female dogs with slow, structured introductions
- A fenced yard is strongly preferred
- Someone with experience handling behavioral dogs or working breeds
- A home that values structure, routine, and understands that love and boundaries go hand in hand

Darwin needs someone who doesn't just want a pet but wants a project with purpose—someone who will take pride in building a lasting bond through mutual respect.

**Adoption Requirements**
To be considered for Darwin's adoption, applicants must:
- Live within York Region or nearby areas
- Attend multiple meet-and-greets with his trainer
- Participate in a structured transition plan, including private lessons with our team
- Commit to maintaining the systems that help Darwin succeed—no exceptions
- Be willing to take things slow, respect his space, and work for his trust

Darwin has already overcome so much. The right adopter won't be looking for 'easy'—they'll be looking for exceptional. And that's exactly what he is.

No male dogs
No cats or other animals
No kids

Please reach out to Samara if you are interested in adopting Darwin at
Hola.petmatch@gmail.com

If you haven't read the bio, please READ THE BIO!
