DARLING CAIRN DAISY - WOULD LOVE ANOTHER DOG & A FENCED YARD's Story
Some dogs just love to be outdoors. Daisy, a 10-year-young Cairn is one of them. When her mom had to move into an apartment, Daisy was miserable. Having access to the outside in a fenced yard had been such an important part of her life, she got a little vocal. This didn’t go over well with the other tenants in the building, and sadly, her mom had to give her up.

The 11-lb Cairn is shy with people but is playful with other small dogs, and therefore must have a canine playmate around the same size. Daisy will require patience and time as she learns to trust a new family. She will need a home with adults who are either retired or work from home. She also gets bored easily and must have a home with a fenced yard. Daisy has been very reliable in the housekeeping department and often signals her foster mom when she has to go out.

According to Daisy's foster mom: "The first few days, Daisy was very wary and not really eating much. She slept in a crate with the door open by my bed. But after a few days together, she is playing with toys, and really loves the backyard. She is eating (and pooping) regularly and surprised me several days ago by jumping up on my very high bed. I was initially worried as she was very tentative and quiet, however she now bounces around and is quite fierce on our walks. I think she feels like she’s part of the pack."

Daisy is spayed and up to date on basic vaccinations such as rabies and distemper. She is heartworm negative and is on monthly flea and tick preventive. Daisy is in foster care in Chicago's far north suburbs. She requires a fenced yard and a small canine companion. Travel to the foster home by car is required.
