Darla Darling's Story
Darla is a precious hound girl who was found roaming a backcountry road in East TN. It was obvious she'd had puppies before and was just too sweet of a girl to leave standing in the middle of a road. The Good Samaritans that saved her knew that she deserved a better life.

Darla is estimated to be 3 years old. She loves to sunbathe on her deck at her foster home kennels. She can be playful with younger dogs (like her), but generally would rather be with humans (her favorite things!). She adores bellyrubs and flops over when you start to give her petting. She hasn't shown much interest in playing with toys yet. Darla is doing great in her kennel and has not had one single accident! She is calm in her kennel, too, with absolutely no barking. She will go as far from her "house" as possible outside to go potty. What a good girl! She also knows Sit and Down commands.

Darla is not suitable for homes with senior dogs as she sees them as weak and becomes a bully to them. She also has a HIGH prey drive (hound dog) and will actively try to chase after cats, bunnies, squirrels, etc. However, she must have been around chickens previously because she barely notices them.

If you are looking for a great hiking buddy, a couch pal, and generally good companion - Darla is perfect for you! She does need a securely fenced in yard or firm commitment to leash walking only. She is a hound and her nose will take her away!

Darla is fully vetted, HW negative, and ready to go to her new home. We can adopt out of state - basic $150 adoption fee DOES NOT include those transport fees. Please reach out to us to discuss transport options.

Email us at pawsofvalor.ar@gmail.com to request an adoption application. Darla hopes to see you soon!
