Darla's Story

Meet Darla – The Sweet Lil Rascal with a Heart of Gold! ?
? Currently in Fort Worth, TX – but she’s ready to pack her bags for the right forever family!

Darla is a 1-year-old Dogo mix with the soul of a comedian and the heart of a survivor. Rescued from a Fort Worth shelter on the very day she was scheduled for euthanasia, this girl has already stared death in the face multiple times and strutted right past it with a stick in her mouth and a sparkle in her eye.

Shortly after rescue, Darla got seriously ill with a 107° fever that nearly took her down — but not this tough cookie! With a whole lot of love (and emergency vet care), she made a full recovery and is now thriving in her foster home. Ranch life suits her just fine, and she’s finally getting to do what she was always meant to do: be a happy, silly, slightly dramatic puppy.

Darla is a people-loving, treat-motivated, stick-obsessed goofball who will smother you in hugs and kisses if you let her. Her most prized possessions? STICKS. Every single day she carefully selects one Very Important Stick™ to carry, hoard, and guard like it’s made of gold. Her stick pile is growing, and she’s not taking applications for co-owners at this time. ??

She’s crate trained, potty trained, and already mastering her manners. She LOVES other dogs and is a total social butterfly — perfect for a home with a pack to join or a buddy to play with. She’s high energy, super smart, and eager to please. Basically, she’s a dream dog just waiting for someone to say “Yes, Darla. That is the best stick I’ve ever seen.” ?

? She’s ready for her forever home and can be transported for the right match!

Darla’s looking for a fun-loving, active family who will give her structure, snacks, and maybe even her own stick shelf. Could that be you?
