Daredevil (Superhero litter)

Their amazing mommy was living in a junkyard and dug a burrow under a car to have them. Happily we were able to get them safe when they were about 3 weeks old. Talk about a silly, active group! At first glance we thought the daddy was likely a blue heeler mix. DNA says we have another Big Dog / Little Dog love affair. Mommy Marvel (photo here) is only about 30# and looks like a Dachshund - explaining all the smaller breeds in the DNA, while daddy appears to be Heeler / GSD / Husky / Retriever and MORE! So we left them as Heeler on Petfinder since that's what they look like, but they are all MUTT! DNA also indicated they could be in the 30-50# range when fully grown, a nice size. <br/><br/>These puppies are smart and silly - always happy to greet their foster parents. Currently in foster homes, they are learning all things puppy - crate training, housebreaking, and more! We think another friendly dog is a great fit for any puppy, and these puppies will likely be active and smart. So a family ready for fun and training and adventures would be a great fit. <br/><br/>Daredevil's foster mom says: "Daredevil - he'll be your best friend. Follows us and Ollie (foster's dog) around. First to befriend Ollie, very sweetly. He's smart and attentive, and then melts into your arms when you carry him. He enjoys toy play time the most! And all chewies! Most independent of the three we have, so far."<br/><br/>This puppy is neutered, microchipped and vaccinated to appropriate age when they go home. They will need more puppy shots at 13 weeks, and at 17 weeks. Puppies are good with dogs, cats, kids and more. Being a puppy, they will need lots of training, including housebreaking. Remember, puppies are cute, but they have sharp teeth, need to be fed 3 times a day and poop... a lot! <br/><br/>The 3-3-3 rule is a guideline for transitioning a rescue dog into its new home and helping it to settle in. It suggests that the first three days should be used for adjusting to its new surroundings, the next three weeks for training and bonding, and the first three months for continued socialization and training.<br/><br/>Each dog goes home with a goody bag including collar/leash, toys, chews, Kong, and more. You will receive all medical records, microchip transfer form and other paperwork at the time of adoption. <br/><br/>Adoptions typically take place in the Stanwood area. We will be at an event on March 14th at Farmstrong Brewing and will have the available puppies there for meet and greets. <br/><br/>Adoption fee is $525. Save-A-Mutt is a registered 501c3 and half of your adoption fee may be tax deductible. <br/><br/>Save-A-Mutt is a foster based rescue, we do not have a facility to visit. Our adoptions are typically done Monday - Saturday, we are closed on Sunday’s to give our volunteers at least one day off. You must be available to do meets and adoptions during that time frame. We can make exceptions only with the approval of the foster home.<br/><br/>Please note, we have approximately a 300 mile adoption radius - Portland OR area and Vancouver BC is the farthest north. We don’t ship dogs, once approved you must pick them up in Snohomish County, WA. Canadian adopters must be able to come to Stanwood WA to pick up your puppy.
