Darcy's Story

Darcy is a 6-year-old, 15 lb mini schnauzer mix with so much love to give! This adorable little guy is incredibly affectionate and loves nothing more than snuggling up in someone’s lap. He’s potty trained, crate trained, and sleeps in his crate at night, although he loves getting in a few morning cuddles!

Darcy enjoys playing with his toys, exploring the backyard, chasing squirrels, and lounging in the sunshine. He also doesn’t shed! He’s a smart little guy who learns quickly and continues to make progress in his foster home every day.

Darcy does struggle with some anxiety and is looking for a patient, understanding family who can help him continue building his confidence. He can be vocal when left alone or when unfamiliar people approach the house. He’s also learning how to feel more comfortable around other dogs. He’s curious and wants to say hello, but can become overwhelmed and bark. Slow, gradual introductions have been helping him!

Darcy hasn’t been tested with children yet, and his foster is still learning how he does with other dogs in a home environment.

Darcy is such a loving little companion who just needs someone willing to give him the time, reassurance, and consistency to feel secure. In return, you’ll have a sweet, cuddly little best friend!
