Daphne's Story

***If you are interested in adopting Daphne, please directly email glgrr2003@gmail.com to learn more about his adoption process. Inquiries sent through Petfinder will not be checked.***

Sweet, loving, playful Daphne - what a story she could tell! Before Daphne came into the rescue, she had no idea what human touch/love was and she had never stepped inside a home. That all changed the day she was rescued! She is learning what love and trust are and how to be a dog.

Daphne is approximately 4 years old. Daphne enjoys hanging out and playing with our young Golden. She is learning to play with squeaky toys! Another dog in her forever home is required to help her continue to learn and become a confident dog. It is unknown how Daphne is with cats. Small children make her nervous, so any children in the home should be 10 and older.

Although she can be shy when meeting new people, she is a true love bug! Daphne loves to be pet and snuggled. She walks good on a leash and with continued walking, she will be even better. Daphne needs a little help getting in the car, but she loves car rides. She also enjoys going for a boat ride. We have been bringing her to the pet store and other dog friendly places to get her used to new environments and to socialize her more since new situations can be scary for her. Her confidence is growing daily.

Daphne does not like to be crated, but is not destructive in our home. We leave her for short periods and she doesn't have any issues. She is doing very well with potty training. We let her out every few hours; she should be let out once in the middle of the night as well. Routine is important for her. A fenced in yard or a tie-out will be best for Daphne. She is learning basic commands and is very smart and motivated. Daphne would benefit from a training class or two or an experienced owner.

It has been wonderful to see Daphne begin her new life! She is truly starting to blossom and her forever home will get to see her full beauty and potential with some patience and love. There is no doubt that she will be someone's best friend!

Daphne is being fostered in Brighton, MI. Any adopter must reside in Michigan, Northern Indiana or Northern Illinois. Daphne has a $350 adoption fee. She is spayed, up-to-date on all vaccinations, had a heartworm test, fecal test, has been microchipped and looked over by a vet.

***If you are interested in adopting Daphne, please directly email glgrr2003@gmail.com to learn more about his adoption process.
