Daphne's Story

Hi, I'm Daphne — and yes, my hair always looks like this. It's called effortless charm, and I've fully leaned in. I'm a tiny girl with a big personality, a warm lap obsession, and a look that can only be described as "just rolled out of bed and somehow pulled it off." I am happiest when I'm on my people — literally on them. Lap sitting, bed cuddling, pressed up against you while you pretend to watch TV — I'm in. I love leash walks, I play well with other small dogs (once I've had a moment to assess the situation), and I will absolutely let the cats know where they stand. Respectfully. With my tiny bark.

My Ideal Home
A home with older kids is totally fine — I love the energy. Other small dogs are welcome once we've properly introduced ourselves. Cat households, though? Hard pass. I'm not rude about it, but I am honest.

A Few Important Things to Know

Crate trained, but vocal about it: I'll go in the crate, but I will register my feelings about it. I do best in a home where alone time is limited or where my crate is just a nap option, not a sentence.
Tiny dog, tiny bladder: I'm fully house trained and use pee pads like a champ — but I need regular bathroom access. Fenced yard or a committed leash-walk routine is a must.
Cat-free zone: I have made my position on cats very clear with a series of small, determined barks. Best to skip the drama and skip the cats.

What I Bring to the Table
I am, by all accounts, exactly what I look like: a sweet, scruffy little love bug who just wants to find her person. I'm young, healthy, up to date on vaccines, recently spayed, and ready to melt into your life. If you want a playful, affectionate companion with great hair and zero apologies about it — I've been waiting for you.

If you know I'm your forever pup, fill out an adoption application at daretorescue.org/adoption-application — and don't forget to put my name on your application!

Can't adopt but want to help? You can sponsor my care while I wait for my forever home — donate at daretorescue.org/donation or send a check payable to DARE: DARE | PO Box 21161 | Tampa, FL 32210
