Dante is approximately 8 years old and has been through a lot. He was adopted to a good home as a young dog and was very loved, but due to his owners disability, his owner could no longer care for him. <br/><br/>Dante is an Australian Cattle Dog mix and weighs about 61 lbs. He settled into his foster home quickly and follows his foster mom wherever she goes. He is very attentive, affectionate, loving, smart and sensitive. He would be perfect for someone looking for a best friend and loyal companion. Dantes new family will need to have experience with his cattle dog breed.<br/><br/>Dante is dog selective and its recommended he be placed in a home as an only dog. A quiet home with no children would be ideal. He sleeps through the night in his crate.<br/><br/>Dante is currently on weight management Purina One dog food and could lose another 5 to 10 lbs.<br/><br/>Dante is housebroken, crate trained, responds very well to his name and knows many commands. He absolutely loves walks and does well on a leash. Dante also loves to play and run with his herding ball. Some of his other favorite pastimes include treat puzzles, playtime with squeaky toys and sniffing in the garden.<br/><br/>He is available to adopt in the Chicagoland area and is being fostered in a home.<br/>Appointments to visit him will be set up for approved adopters only.
