Dana's Story

Meet Dana, a sweet and cheerful female Terrier mix looking for her forever home. Dana sports an adorable scruffy look, her coat is fluffy and soft rather than wire hair. Dana is a wonderful companion, she is friendly and warms up very quickly to people and other dogs. Dana is an affectionate snuggle bug. She can be be very insistent that she belongs on your lap for belly rubs (even if at 30 pounds she is just a bit too big to be a lap dog) and she will cuddle up anywhere you are. Dana likes to be near her people but she can also be left alone (she'll just make herself comfortable and nap). She is not trained to be left in a crate and at her foster Mom's house she is left to free roam in a contained area of the house. She enjoys playing with toys (scented balls and treat dispensing toys are great), likes a chewy treat, car rides, and enjoys getting out on a walk and is learning the leash. She has a curious and spunky attitude and brings no fear to her exploration of the world. Her intelligence and eagerness to please make her a quick learner. Dana has to learn quickly as she is blind and learning her surroundings so she can move around them safely and with confidence is critical. She is doing great in her foster home, quickly learning where everything is and making a mental map of the house and yard. An adopter would need to be able to support Dana in this endeavor and others that will ensure her vision impairment doesn't stop her from living her best life. Overall, she is a very easygoing little soul and she will thrive in a home that can provide her with a regular walk and sniff around the block, mental stimulation, and lots of cuddles. Dana would love to have a canine friend in her new home and another dog in the house would be wonderful for her. Dana is house trained but as with any newly adopted dog, this will need to be reinforced so she learns the potty routine of her new home and family.<br/>Are you ready to give Dana the loving home she deserves? Come meet this sweet and easy going girl in Longmont!
