Dan's Story
Meet Dan!

Dans story began when he and his littermates were surrendered to rescue with their mother at just 4 weeks old. There were five puppies in the litter—three chocolate puppies and two black puppies, Dan and his brother Bill. The chocolate puppies were adopted very quickly, but somehow Dan and Bill were overlooked.

Dan has now spent his entire life in rescue. He has never experienced having a home or a family to call his own.

While rescue has kept Dan safe and loved, growing up in that environment hasnt given him all of the socialization and everyday experiences that a puppy raised in a home would normally receive. As a result, Dan is timid around unfamiliar people and situations. He has become comfortable with the world he knows—his foster, his routine, and the people he trusts.

But please dont mistake his shyness for aggression. Dan is not aggressive in any way. He simply needs someone who understands that trust takes time.

Dan does wonderfully with routine and responds quickly when interactions are calm, consistent, and repetitive. Once he gets to know you and realizes he is safe, his sweet personality begins to shine. He is a delightful young dog who loves being close to the person he trusts and even sleeps in bed with his foster.

Dan isnt looking for a busy home filled with expectations. He needs a patient person who will allow him to settle in at his own pace. We believe he could do especially well with a single person who wants a devoted companion and is willing to give this shy boy the opportunity he has been waiting for.

Dan has spent his whole life waiting for someone to choose him. He doesnt need someone to change who he is—he just needs someone willing to give him the time, patience, and love he needs to thrive.

Could you be the person who finally shows Dan what it means to have a home of his very own?
