Hi, I'm Damian!<br/><br/>I first arrived at Mississauga Animal Services in October 2025 and was adopted in December 2025. I made my way back to the shelter in February 2026, and since then I've been working hard with a trainer to build confidence and improve my skills in new situations.<br/><br/>I'm a 2-year-old German Shepherd, about 80 lbs, and I'm neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and dewormed. I'm a smart, driven dog who really thrives when I have structure, guidance, and a job to do.<br/><br/>I can be unsure when I feel pressured or backed into a corner, especially around unfamiliar people, but I've been learning how to handle those moments better. With proper support and someone who can advocate for me on leash, I'm able to meet new people calmly and gently.<br/><br/>I've also been in a home before and formed a strong attachment to my family, especially the child in the home. Because of that, I can become protective, which is something my future home will need to understand and manage with clear boundaries and consistent training.<br/><br/>What I really want is a confident, experienced handler; someone who understands shepherds and knows how to channel my instincts in the right direction. I love having purpose, whether that's training, learning new tasks, or just being given something meaningful to focus on.<br/><br/>I've been on outings like trips to Home Depot during my training, and I handle busy environments like loud noises and machinery quite well. That said, Id likely do best outside of busy city areas, where things are a bit calmer and more predictable for me.<br/><br/>Right now, I would do best as the only pet in the home while I continue to settle and grow into my best self.<br/><br/>Underneath everything, I'm a loyal, intelligent dog who just needs the right person to bring out my potential.
